Our History

In 1986, Doug Dubbelde started Double D Gravel with four employees, a few pieces of equipment comprised of trucks, loaders, a backhoe, and a screener. This was equipment that was purchased from a local family selling their business.

DD Gravel grew to be a very competitive choice compared to an out-of-town contractor needing to travel to Pipestone.

After 30 years, Doug sold the business to his son Jamie. Doug is still helping as needed but has now found some time to enjoy doing projects at the family farm, visiting grandchildren and of course fishing.

Jamie Dubbelde, current owner of Double D Gravel, Inc. prides himself on the diversity of experience his employees possess. With this experience and the fleet of quality equipment Jamie has provided for his team, you can rest easy knowing the job will get done right the first time, meeting deadlines and expectations.

Family is very important to us! May it be our families at home or at work. My father, myself and my son are all a part of this business (three generations is pretty cool) also we have many employees that have their family working with us. There are father/son, father in-law/daughter in-law, brothers, and cousins on our team. I believe that says our team believes that our work family is important to them as well!
